PHASE 1, also abbreviated as PH-1, is a scientific and operational framework created to address issues of global warming and climate change. We achieve this by addressing Urban Heat Islands. Urban Heat Islands occur when an urban zone becomes significantly warmer than its surrounding rural areas due to human activity. PH-1 copes with Urban Heat Islands by using a seven-step cyclic process and toolkit that enables research and operations in the fields of Urban Heat Island (UHI).
Our framework creates collaborations from varied experts working towards common objectives that address issues of global warming and climate change. It connects researchers from different fields of study, architects, city and transportation planners, government, private sector, non-profit organisations and the public. PH-1 aids these natural countermeasures with the use of biotechnology and chemistry namely photocatalysts like titanium dioxide. PH-1 enables the use of Earth Observation Satellites (EO), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor greenhouse gases and air pollutants.
